The Siaya National Polytechnic (TSNP) invites applications from suitably qualified and individuals with excellent credentials to fill the vacant Technician - Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department  position on the terms and conditions listed below: -

Terms of service: One (1) year contract renewable subject to satisfactory performance

Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this position, a candidate must have: -

1. Craft Certificate in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or Electrical Operator level 5.
2. One who is reliable and of high integrity.
3. Good communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Ensuring compliance with applicable electrical safety standards and regulations.
2. Liaising with relevant authorities, stakeholders, contractors, and service providers on matters concerning electrical power supply.
3. Maintain inventory for all tools, machines and equipment's in the Workshop/Laboratory.
4. Preparing preventive maintenance schedules of the items.
5. Ensuring compliance with both Statutory and Polytechnic's safety protocol regarding operation of Workshops/Laboratory.
6. Supporting the smooth running of the Department Workshop/Laboratory.
7. Working hand in hand with the workshop practice trainers when preparing materials for practical lessons.
8. Maintaining work area, tools/machines/equipment cleaners and proper operations.
9. Coordinating the planning, implementation, and monitoring of electrical power supply projects and activities within the Institution.
