Occupational Therapy Internship at Murang'a County Government

Murang'a County Government is hiring OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST (INTERN) – ONE (1) POST for Twelve (12) months Non-renewable.

The Interns will be paid a stipend at a rate determined by the County Government.

Minimum Requirements

• Diploma in Occupational Therapy or its approved equivalent froma recognizedinstitution
• Must be registered with the Kenya Occupational Therapists Association.
• Certificate in Computer Application Skills.

Duties and responsibilities

• Planning, supervision for provision of occupational therapy services at an outpatient department or ward in a hospital or Community based Rehabilitation
• Assessing patients' needs for Rehabilitation;
• Acquiring, verifying and maintaining information and data relating to patients,
• Maintaining records of relevant departmental supplies including finished articles made in
• Occupational Therapy section.
• Assessing and formulating patient's treatment plan;
• Maintaining records and data relating to patients;
• Collecting data for operational research;
• Sensitizing the community on occupational therapy issues; and preparing periodic reports

Eligibility Criteria

Murang'a County Government Internship Program is a government youth programme whose main objective is to offer college graduates the opportunity to gain hands on experience and build skills in order to enhance their chances for employment, networking and entrepreneurship.

To qualify, an applicant must

• Be a Kenyan citizen not over the age of 35 years
• Be an unemployed graduate from a recognized training institution who has completed a Diploma or degree course in the last 24 months or less, in the relevant field.
• Not have benefited from a similar internship program or been exposed to work experience related to their area of study since graduating.
• Not have exited from formal employment.
