Woodland Star International School are recruiting a Kiswahili Teaching Intern for an unpaid, voluntary internship placement for a period of 3–6 months at Brackenhurst, Limuru, Kenya for the 2026/2027 school year.

Role Summary
The Kiswahili Teaching Intern supports the delivery of engaging and meaningful Kiswahili learning experiences across the school. Working closely with lead teachers, the intern assists in lesson preparation, classroom activities, language practice sessions, and the creation of learning resources. This role provides an opportunity for an aspiring educator to develop practical teaching skills while contributing positively to Woodland Star's mission of helping learners Be Self-directed, Belong in Community, and Become Globally Mindful.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and delivering engaging Kiswahili lessons.
- Support individual learners and small groups during classroom activities.
- Prepare and organize teaching materials, displays, and learning resources.
- Help facilitate games, songs, storytelling, and other interactive language-learning experiences.
- Assist with assessment tasks, record-keeping, and monitoring learner progress.
- Support Kiswahili-themed events, assemblies, celebrations, and school projects.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
- Participate in team meetings, professional learning opportunities, and school activities.
- Uphold Woodland Star's mission, values, safeguarding policies, and Behavior Code.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Education, Kiswahili, Languages, or a related field.
- Fluency in Kiswahili and English.
- Previous experience working with children is an advantage.
- Strong alignment with Woodland Star's mission and values.
- Current police clearance certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
- At least one academic or professional reference.
