Mombasa County Government is hiring 30 Environmental Compliance Interns for a Six (6) Months Internship Contract in the DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENT & SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT.
Pursuant to the provisions of Article 235 of Constitution of Kenya (2010), Mombasa County Public Service Board wishes to consider applications from qualified and results oriented officers to the following internship positions:
ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE INTERNS (DEGREE HOLDERS) - TEN (10) POSTS
Terms of Service: Six (6) Months Contract
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supporting environmental inspections within assigned areas
- Conduct public sensitization programmes
- Prepare inspection and compliance reports
- Identify environmental pollution and illegal dumping hotspots
- Collect environmental monitoring data
- Identify environmental pollution and illegal dumping hotspots
- Any other duties assigned by the supervisor
Requirements for Appointment
- A Bachelor's Degree in Environmental science, Environmental Management, Environmental Law, Natural Resource Management, Public Health, Environmental Engineering, Climate Change, Sustainability Studies or any other related field from a recognized institution
- Proficiency in computer application
- Be an unemployed Kenyan graduate
- Have not retired or exited from formal employment
- Good communication and interpersonal skill
- Ability to work in field environment
- Willingness to learn and work with communities
- Ability to prepare basic reports and maintain records

- Ability to work in field environment
- Willingness to learn and work with communities
- Ability to prepare basic reports and maintain records
