Open Kanvases Africa Limited (OKAL) is hiring Waiters in Nairobi. Our Client is a Restaurant in Nairobi that has made a mark in the Kenyan culinary scene. They are looking to hire Waiters who will assist in maintaining the restaurant’s reputation for excellence by ensuring every guest receives a seamless, personalized, and memorable dining experience.
Reports to/ Supervised by: Restaurant Supervisor & Restaurant Manager
Your Role
The Waiter’s key deliverables and attributes will include:
- Exceptional Guest Experience expectations Deliver memorable dining experiences that exceed guest
- Dining Service Execution – Execute service according to established fine dining standards
- Product Knowledge & Upselling – Enhance the guest experience while maximizing revenue
- Hygiene, Safety & Compliance – Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety
- Teamwork & Operational Excellence – Contribute to smooth restaurant operation
- Previous experience in a fine dining or high end hospitality environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong knowledge of food, beverages, wines, and service etiquette
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining exceptional service standards.
- Professional appearance and grooming
About you
- Academic Qualifications: Certificate or Diploma in Hospitality, Food & Beverage Service, or related field (preferred)
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience in a fast-paced restaurant or hotel setting
- Legal: Must possess a valid Food Handlers Certificate as per the Laws of Kenya
- Professional Skills: Excellent communication, basic math for billing, and proficiency in POS systems
- Physical: Ability to remain on your feet for long periods and carry heavy service trays.
- Soft skills: Ability to stay calm under peak-hour pressure
