PSC invites applications for Petroleum Technologists in the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum, State Department for Petroleum.
Requirements
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have a Diploma in the following disciplines: Petroleum Geoscience, Industrial Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Applied Technology( Technical & Applied Physics), Earth Science, Petroleum Operations or Cartography & GIS from a university recognized in Kenya.
Duties and Responsibilities
This is an entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at will work under the guidance and supervision of a senior officer. Duties and responsibilities will include:
(i) participating in collection and compilation of petroleum data;
(ii) participating in updating petroleum and technical databases;
(iii) participating in labeling and sample preparation for analytical work; and
(iv) undertaking analysis on rock, water, oil and gas;
(v) participating in petroleum geoscientific field surveys; and
(vi) assisting in maintenance of laboratory and survey equipment for geoscientific petroleum activities.
Contract Details
Basic Salary Scale: Ksh 32,410- Ksh 42,280 p.m. (CSG 12)
House Allowance: Ksh 6,750 p.m
Commuter Allowance: Ksh 4,000 p.m.
Leave Allowance: As provided in the Civil Service
Annual Leave: As existing in the Civil Service
Medical Cover: As provided by the Government
Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable
