Requirements
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have a Diploma in any of the following fields:-Applied Sciences (Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry), Laboratory or Biotechnology from a recognized institution
Duties and Responsibilities
This is an entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at will work under the guidance and supervision of a senior officer. Duties and responsibilities will include:
(i) cleaning and Sterilizing laboratory glassware
(ii) documenting and receiving samples for analysis;
(iii) preparing laboratory reagents;
(iv) preparing and analyzing geological samples, gemstones; and
(v) disposing Laboratory waste.
Contract Details
Basic Salary Scale: Ksh 32,410- Ksh 42,280 p.m. (CSG 12)
House Allowance: Ksh 3850- Ksh 6750 p.m
Commuter Allowance: Ksh 4,000 p.m.
Leave Allowance: As provided in the Civil Service
Annual Leave: 30 working days
Medical Cover: As provided by the Government
Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable
