The Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) wishes to recruit results-oriented Kenyan citizens to fill vacant positions of a Records Management Officer in Headquarter Offices.

IPOA's main function is to provide for civilian oversight over the work of the Police.

Job Purpose

This cadre is responsible for maintaining records in the Authority.

Key Responsibilities/ Duties / Tasks

An officer at this grade will undertake the following duties and responsibilities:

1. Implementing policies, strategies, guidelines, plans, standards and procedures that impact on records management while ensuring compliance to applicable laws and regulations;
2. Updating records in the Authority;
3. Implementing electronic records management system in collaboration with ICT department;
4. Maintaining file movement records;
5. Participating in sensitization of staff on records management;
6. Implement disaster preparedness, Management & Recovery program;
7. Collecting and collating data for developing reports in records management division; and
8. Implementing risk mitigation measures.

Knowledge, Experience and qualifications required

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have the following qualifications:

1. Bachelor's Degree in any of the following disciplines: - Information Science Records Management, Library Science, Archives and Records Managemen or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; and
2. Proficiency in computer applications.
