The Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) is seeking results-oriented Kenyan citizens to fill vacant positions of Drivers in Headquarters/ Nairobi / Regional Offices / County Offices Responsible for providing transport services in an effective and efficient manner.

IPOA's main function is to provide for civilian oversight over the work of the Police.

Key Responsibilities/ Duties / Tasks

An officer at this grade will undertake the following duties and responsibilities:

1. Driving the organization's vehicles as authorized;
2. Carrying out routine checks on the assigned vehicle and reporting any malfunction of vehicle systems and other occurrences;
3. Maintaining the movement of work tickets for vehicle(s) assigned;
4. Maintaining security and safety of the vehicle on and off the road;
5. Reporting all accidents and incidents promptly to the relevant IPOA offices;
6. Administering first aid in the event of an accident; and
7. Maintaining cleanliness of the vehicle.

Knowledge, Experience and qualifications required

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have the following qualifications:

1. KCSE mean grade of D (Plain) or its equivalent qualification;
2. At least two years' proven driving experience;
3. Valid driving license;
4. Suitability Trade Test for Drivers;
5. First-Aid Course Certificate lasting not less than one (1) week from Kenya Institute of Highway and Building technology (KIHBT) or any other recognized Institution;
6. A valid certificate of good conduct;
7. Proficiency in Computer Applications; and
8. Practical test for drivers conducted by the ministry responsible for transport or conducted by AA of Kenya.
