Vacancy: HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICER
Location: Healthpact Hospital – Isiolo Town
Reports To: Human Resource Manager

Healthpact Hospital is seeking a skilled and motivated Human Resources Officer to join our team. The HR Officer will be responsible for supporting the overall HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, payroll processing, and ensuring compliance with labor laws. This role is essential to ensuring that Healthpact Hospital attracts, develops, and retains a talented workforce committed to providing high-quality healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in driving culture change within the hospital, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Monitor the drafting and implementation of HR policies and other related policies.
- Ensure staff punctuality, tracking attendance, and addressing any attendance concerns promptly.
- Maintain high levels of discipline across the workforce, ensuring adherence to hospital policies and guidelines.
- Participate in the performance management process, including conducting staff appraisals and providing constructive feedback.
- Assist in enforcing a culture of accountability and responsibility among staff.
- Assist in the recruitment process, including job advertising, screening, interviewing, and onboarding new employees.
- Support the administration of employee benefits, including leave, medical insurance, and retirement plans.
- Maintain and update employee records and HR databases, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with relevant laws and policies.
- Monitor employee attendance and ensure proper documentation for absences and leave.
- Assist with the preparation and processing of monthly payroll, ensuring accuracy and timely payment.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, statutory requirements, and hospital policies.
- Assist in developing and implementing employee training and development programs.
- Support employee relations by resolving issues and fostering a positive work environment.
- Assist in performance management processes, including employee appraisals and feedback sessions.
- Prepare reports on HR metrics, such as turnover, training, and attendance.
- Support organizational development initiatives to improve workplace efficiency and staff engagement.
- Assist in maintaining health and safety regulations and ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- MUST have At least 2 years of experience in human resources, preferably in a hospital.
- Membership in a professional HR body (e.g., Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM)) will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of labor laws, HR best practices, and employee relations.
- Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
