TakaTaka Solutions is a vertically integrated waste management company. We are active in waste collection, sorting, recycling and composting. We support our customers in achieving their recycling goals while also working with them on data insights and regulatory compliance issues.
Purpose of the Role
The store intern at TakaTaka Solutions Limited will support the day-to-day operations of the company store, including inventory tracking, material issuance, and documentation. This role is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual seeking hands-on experience in store management, inventory systems, and operational logistics in a fast-paced waste management environment.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management
- Assist with daily inventory checks and update records under supervision.
- Help maintain proper stock arrangement and labeling.
- Support the documentation of received and issued materials in the ERP system.
Distribution Support
- Help prepare requested materials for internal departments.
- Ensure delivery notes are signed and properly filed.
- Work with drivers and loaders to organize store deliveries.
Data and Documentation
- Input data into store records and assist in preparing basic inventory reports.
- Help reconcile physical stock with ERP records during periodic stock takes.
- Assist in generating inventory projection reports and store requisitions.
General Store Management
- Keep the store clean, safe, and well-organized.
- Learn and apply best practices in FIFO and 5S inventory systems.
- Support compliance with company store policies and safety guidelines.
Education & Qualifications
- Minimum KCSE Grade B and above.
- Ongoing or completed diploma/degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field.
- Certification in inventory management is an added advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Basic understanding of inventory management systems (e.g., 5S, FIFO).
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good communication and team collaboration abilities.
- Willingness to learn, proactive attitude, and physical stamina (some lifting and standing required).
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the internship, the intern will:
- Gain practical experience in inventory and store operations.
- Understand ERP-based stock management and documentation.
- Be able to apply FIFO and 5S systems in a real-world setting.
- Be familiar with interdepartmental coordination for inventory distribution.
