Context:
Terre des hommes Foundation is an independent, neutral, and impartial Swiss organization founded in 1960, dedicated to bringing about significant and lasting change in the lives of children and young people, especially those most at risk. Tdh ensures their well-being and the effective implementation of their rights as defined in the Convention on the Child’s Rights and other human rights instruments. To make a difference, Tdh focus our efforts on maternal and child health, children and young people in migration situations, and access to justice. Tdh promotes the active participation of children and young people to empower them. We advocate for their rights and support them in expressing their needs and interests. Tdh works in fragile contexts and conflict zones, as well as in more stable environments.
Tdh is present in Kenya since 2011. Currently Tdh is providing protection services for children and families affected by migration, natural crises and poverty in Dadaab refugee camps, in Garissa County, and in Kakuma refugee camp.
General description of the job:
He/she carries out the following activities related to Information Systems (IS) and Assets management within the delegation in accordance with Tdh standards, policies, protocols, and procedures:
- He/she assists in providing technical, administrative, and analytical support for the Information Systems (IS) in the delegation.
- He/she participates in the deployments, maintenance and support for the different environments and users in the delegation.
- He/she will assist to monitor (control, deployment, etc.) the equipment in the delegation and guarantee the availability of IT systems to users.
- Administer IT equipment that include, desktop computers, printers, routers, phones, Tablets/I pads, smartphones etc. for effective usage in support of programs implementations
- Work closely with the internet provider to ensure network connectivity throughout the organization infrastructure is on par with technical considerations
- Where required, troubleshoot problems reported by users through a formulated a daily plan so that all tasks are performed, and nothing is overlooked
- In liaison with the logistics officer maintain up-to-date asset registry for all IT devices
Main responsibilities : Information Systems (IS)
- Assist the Logistics Officer in the implementation of good technical and procedural practices in the preparation, installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment.
- Assist the Logistics Officer to control, maintain, monitor, and consolidate the reporting of all IT equipment, tools and services of the Information Systems (IS) and telecommunications of the delegations in its area, in accordance with TDH standards, policies, protocols and procedures.
- Assist the Logistics Officer in the improvement of services by reporting the main problems and issues raised by the various sites in the delegation.
- Monitors the tickets raised on the IT service portal for the delegation and follow with the logistics officer for solution(s) to close the tickets in the shortest time possible.
- Assist the Logistics Officer to update, publish and archive all user and IS documentation due to changes in IS infrastructure, equipment, and services.
Main responsibilities : Assets Management
- In liaison with field Logistics focal contacts, leads in gathering all information related to procured assets for asset register update.
- Ensures all assets are always appropriately tagged in line with TDH Asset management policy.
- Ensures assets inventory control/check is done periodically through physical count as per TDH policy.
- Liaises with asset users to ensure assigned assets in good condition and utilization all the time
- Ensures that all assets are correctly covered by insurance insured and follows the correct channel to manage losses, defects and damages.
- Maintains accurate record of all assets through proper filing system
- Plans and ensures monthly and quarterly physical verification of assets is done timely in accordance with TDH policy.

As well as the following specific business skills:
- A degree in computer science or equivalent training in information systems.
- Knowledge of ITIL
- Network Knowledge
- Knowledge of Windows 10 and 11 in the enterprise
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Office 365 environment would be a plus)
- Configuring and installing individual computer systems (hardware and software)
- Demonstrates integrity and honesty in his/her activities
- Able to meet deadlines
- Demonstrates determination and proactivity in his professional commitment
- Solid knowledge of practical logistics procedures and experience maintaining Logistics Standards.
