Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) was established in 1991 under the KAA Act Cap 395 to provide facilitative infrastructure for aviation services in Kenya.
Guided by its mandate, the Authority is seeking to recruit competent and self-driven persons to fill the under listed position.
FIREFIGHTER TRAINEEONE HUNDRED (100) VACANCIES

Job Purpose
The job holder will be responsible for providing and carrying out rescue and firefighting services to passengers, other airport users and property.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Conducting fire and rescue services through fire-fighting in crashed aircraft and reported fire outbreaks in buildings to save life and property;
- Responding to aircraft emergencies as per airport services manual;
- Inspecting fire engines, appliances and equipment to ensure serviceability;
- Cleaning and maintaining appliances and equipment at the fire station to ensure they are in good working order;
- Inspecting runways, taxiways and apron for fuel spillage and Foreign Object Debris (FODs) and ensuring that they are clean and safe;
- Inspecting the airport boundary and topography to ensure their accessibility;
- Operating pumps and driving of fire engines and vehicles when required; and
- Participating in fire drills as required.
Key Qualifications and Experience
- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) Grade C (Plain) and KCSE Grade C- (Minus) for candidates from Minority groups, Marginalised Communities and Persons living with Disabilities, PWDs;
- Basic Fire Training from National Youth Service (NYS) or a recognized Institution will be an added advantage;
- Candidates with Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certificate will have an added advantage; and
- Twenty-six (26) years (Born on or after 1st January, 1999) and not more than 28 years (Born on or after 1st January 1997) for those from Minority groups, Marginalised Communities and Persons living with Disabilities, PWDs.

Terms and Conditions of Service
The appointment will be on contract for an initial one (1) year on-the-job training and thereafter appointment on Permanent and Pensionable terms subject to successful completion of the one (1) year on-the-job training.
