We are looking for a Technical Writing Intern to support Octavia Carbon’s commercialization team. This role is primarily focused on technical writing (80%); translating complex Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology, research developments, and project updates into clear, structured, and compelling written materials. In addition to writing, you will support the commercialization team with market research and opportunity mapping (20%), helping identify potential partnerships, funding opportunities, and emerging trends in the carbon removal ecosystem.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys writing, synthesizing complex information, and structuring technical content, while gaining exposure to the rapidly evolving carbon removal industry.  This is a 3-month internship opportunity that may lead to a full-time position with a revised salary offer based on your performance. Key Responsibilities

Technical Writing (Primary Responsibility – 80%) 

• Collaborate with technical and commercialization teams to understand our DAC technology, research developments, and project updates.
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and well-structured written content.
• Contribute to written materials highlighting our technology, innovation, and differentiation.
• Draft and edit materials for grant applications, accelerator programs, prize applications, and due diligence requests.
• Ensure technical information is communicated in an accessible manner for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary information and insights for various writing assignments.

Commercialization & Market Research (Supporting Responsibility – 20%) 

• Conduct market research and competitor analysis to inform strategic decisions.
• Identify potential funding opportunities relevant to the company.
• Support the preparation of investor, partner, and stakeholder materials.
• Assist in identifying and evaluating potential commercial partnerships.
• Help maintain internal tools for tracking opportunities and business development pipelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Business, Economics, Communications, Marketing, International Relations, or related disciplines (preferred but not required).
• Proven experience in technical writing, with demonstrated ability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
• Detail-oriented mindset and commitment to accuracy and clarity in written communication.
• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in using various tools and platforms for collaboration and document creation.
• Proactive and adaptable, with a self-starter mindset and eagerness to take on evolving responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
