The Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) is a state corporation established through the Science and Technology (Amendment) Act of 1979, which has since been amended to Science, Technology and Innovation Act 2013 as the national body responsible for carrying out health research in Kenya.

Pharmacist

Key responsibilities

  • Dispensing of investigational products and other concomitant medications;
  • Verifying and maintaining information relating to study participants
  • Dispensing of investigational products and other concomitant medications;
  • Verifying and maintaining information relating to study participants
  • Ordering and recording of drugs and other supplies;
  • Custody and storing of drugs;
  • Ensuring that the working environment meets the stipulated requirements
  • Perform data entry and timely resolution of queries raised;
  • Ensuring accountability of study drugs and all section related consumables
  • Timely compilation and sharing of section reports
  • Participate in development of section documents including SOPs
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned

Vacancy Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from a recognized institution.
  2. Registration Certificate issued by the Kenya Pharmacy and Poisons Board
  3. Valid practicing license
  4. Proficiency in computer application;
  5. Demonstrated work performance and results
  6. Planning and Organizational skills;
  7. Communication and reporting skills;
  8. Interpersonal skills;
  9. Creativity and Innovativeness;
  10. Critical thinking skills
  11. Team player.
