Job Purpose
Responsible for providing transport services in an effective and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities/ Duties / Tasks
An officer at this grade will undertake the following duties and responsibilities:
- Driving the organization's vehicles as authorized;
- Carrying out routine checks on the assigned vehicle and reporting any
- malfunction of vehicle systems and other occurrences;
- Maintaining the movement of work tickets for vehicle(s) assigned;
- Maintaining security and safety of the vehicle on and off the road;
- Reporting all accidents and incidents promptly to the relevant IPOA offices;
- Administering first aid in the event of an accident; and
- Maintaining cleanliness of the vehicle.
Knowledge, Experience and qualifications required
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have the following qualifications:
- KCSE mean grade of D (Plain) or its equivalent qualification;
- At least two years' proven driving experience;
- Valid driving license;
- Suitability Trade Test for Drivers;
- First-Aid Course Certificate lasting not less than one (1) week from Kenya Institute of Highway and Building technology (KIHBT) or any other recognized Institution;
- A valid certificate of good conduct;
- Proficiency in Computer Applications; and
- Practical test for drivers conducted by the ministry responsible for transport or conducted by AA of Kenya.
