Graduate Trainee - Audit

Associated Battery Manufacturers (ABM) EA is the largest manufacturer of automotive and solar batteries in East and Central Africa, based in Nairobi, Kenya.

GRADUATE TRAINEE -AUDIT

The Graduate Trainee will support the Internal Audit team in executing audit assignments, reviewing internal controls, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. This role provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in audit processes within a dynamic corporate environment.

Reporting structure
Responsible to the Head of Internal Audit through appointed Internal Auditors.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in conducting internal audits across various departments and branches.
• Support in reviewing financial records, transactions, and supporting documentation.
• Participate in stock counts and verification exercises.
• Help identify control gaps, risks, and areas for improvement.
• Assist in preparing audit working papers and draft audit reports.
• Follow up on the implementation of audit recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Perform data analysis and support audit testing procedures.
• Carry out any other duties as assigned by the audit team.

Qualifications

Interested candidates must have the following basic qualifications and attributes: –

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (or currently pursuing).
• CPA-K or ACCA finalist qualification is an added advantage.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and audit processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High level of integrity and attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
