Product Development & Service Design Internship
Responsibilities
- Own and track the product development cycle from concept creation, development, pre-launch, and post-launch activities
- Conduct user research and identify innovation opportunities and trends in the industry, proposing findings to stakeholders for product enhancements
- Understand user needs, create personas, and map out the stages of their journey; design service blueprints that reflect real-world workflows
- Collect and track client issues and pain points, collaborating with internal teams to ensure they are resolved and closed
- Provide support to client-facing teams for quick resolution of client queries, and engage with service providers to ensure timely resolution of issues
- Document process requirements and conduct usability acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure requirements are met
- Review current product features and process flows, and recommend process enhancements
- Research and propose strategies that would drive product uptake and performance across Vunoh’s service verticals
- Prepare periodic reports showing product uptake, potential growth areas, and proposed client base expansion opportunities
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned from time to time
Requirements
- A grade of B+ and above in KCSE (or equivalent), with good grades in mathematics and languages
- A bachelor’s degree with a minimum of second-class honours; candidates expecting to complete their degree in the next few months are eligible, provided they will be available for the full internship duration
- Demonstrated interest in technology, digital products, or financial services, and a willingness to explore the intersection of technology and business
- Ability to learn quickly and manage workload effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines
- A team player with a strong work ethic and proactive communication style
- A desire to take initiative, ask questions, and suggest process improvements
- Entrepreneurial spirit, with demonstrated creativity and innovation in academic or professional settings
- Familiarity with or curiosity about AI-powered tools and how they can enhance product design, client experience, and service delivery
- Enthusiasm for leveraging AI tools, automation, and digital platforms to design smarter, more efficient cross-border services
