The Kenya Animal Genetic Resources Centre (KAGRC) is a state corporation under the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development mandated to produce, preserve, conserve and distribute animal genetic materials.

KAGRC seeks to recruit qualified persons to fill the following positions.

LABORATORY TECHNICIAN KAGRC GRADE 8 (6)

Ref: KAGRC 8/5/2026(4)

Duties and responsibilities will entail assisting in:

1. Preparing media for germplasm production;
2. Standardizing laboratory procedures and reagents; iii. Dispatching analyzing and preserving test samples; iv. Simple analytical laboratory work;
3. Keeping records,
4. Collection and analysis of samples; and
5. Receiving, recording and packaging germplasm.

Person Specifications

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: -

1. Diploma in any of the following disciplines: - Applied Sciences (Applied Chemistry, Analytical chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, applied Biology), Medical Laboratory Technology or Biotechnology equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
2. Proficiency in computer applications from a recognized institution;
