The Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) is a state corporation established in 1979. Operating under the Science, Technology and Innovation Act, it is the national body responsible for carrying out human health research in Kenya. KEMRI has become a leading center of excellence in biomedical and public health research across Africa and globally.
Data Intern
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the accurate entry of study data into electronic databases and data capture system
- Supporting verification of data completeness, consistency, and accuracy in study records and Case Report Forms (CRFs)
- Assisting in routine data cleaning, validation checks, and identification of discrepancies
- Supporting the tracking and resolution of missing or incomplete study data
- Assisting in filing, organizing, archiving, and retrieval of study documents and records
- Supporting the maintenance of participant records, data logs, trackers, and accountability forms
Minimum qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree training in Information Technology, Computer Science, Health Records, Statistics, Data Science related field
- Recent graduate or student eligible for internship attachment
- Basic computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Basic understanding of data entry and record management procedures
- Willingness to learn and work within a research environment
- Good organizational and record management skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Ability to work within multidisciplinary teams
- Willingness to learn and take guidance
- Good time management and ability to meet deadlines
- Be a Kenyan youth below 30 years of age.
- Should have graduated and obtained the relevant final certificate.
