The ICT Authority CALL FOR APPLICATIONS PRESIDENTIAL DIGITAL TALENT INTERNSHIP PROGRAM (DIGITALENT) COHORT XI 2026/2027
This is a 12-month internship programme run by the ICT Authority. It is a strategic intervention by ICT Authority on behalf of the Ministry of Information Communication and Digital Economy to develop and sustain high end ICT talent by bridging the gap between industry requirements and the capabilities of the local workforce.
The ICT Authority invites qualified recent university graduates to apply for the Presidential Digital Talent Program (PDTP) Cohort XI Intake.
Through this transformative initiative, the Government is looking for young talented Kenyans with a passion for ICT and Public Service to undergo a structured 12-month internship program in both the public and private sectors.
Internship Objective:
The objective of the program is to develop and prepare young ICT graduates to take up employment opportunities that come up in the ICT as well as other sectors. Participants will gain valuable workplace experience, receive mentorship from industry professionals, enhance their technical and professional competencies, refine their career aspirations, and build strong professional networks. The programme offers internship opportunities in the areas of;
- Network & Digital Infrastructure (150),
- Software Development & Al (100),
- Information Security (50),
- Data Analytics (50) and
- Multimedia (Graphic Design) & Digital Marketing (50).
Eligibility
- Applicants MUST have graduated and attained First or Second-Class Honors – Upper Division (or the equivalent) from a recognized institution in the last two years (from Jan 2024).
- If awaiting graduation (till Dec 2026), provide a recommendation/reference letter from the University signed & stamped indicating First or Upper Second-Class Honors to be awarded.
- Recent bachelor’s degree graduates in ICT or Engineering (IT/ICT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Electrical & Electronics, Telecommunication and other closely related disciplines in ICT or Engineering). The graduates must have thorough knowledge in the core areas of specialization; Network & Digital Infrastructure, Software Development & Al, Information Security, Data Analytics and Multimedia (Graphic Design) & Digital Marketing. The Applicant may be required to demonstrate technical competencies on their core of specialization prior to the interview.
- Be a Kenyan citizen aged between 21 and 29 years
- Be unemployed and must not have previously undertaken a Government of Kenya internship program.
- Applicants should be willing and ready to be deployed in any Ministry, Department, Agency, Corporation, or County Government (MCDAs) within the 47 counties on full time basis from 8:00am-5:00pm.
