The Nyandarua County Public Service Board invites applications from suitably qualified, competent, and experienced persons to fill the following vacant positions in the County Government of Nyandarua's DEPARTMENT OF WATER, SANITATION, ENVIRONMENT, TOURISM, NATURAL RESOURCES AND CLIMATE CHANGE
ENVIRONMENT OFFICER II, JOB GROUP 'J' - TWO (2) POSTS
Terms of Service: Five (5) year renewable contract with a provision to translate to permanent and pensionable.
Duties and Responsibilities:
(i) Collect and collate data and information related to environmental conservation and protection;
(ii) Participating in awareness creation and advocacy;
(iii) Field inspections;
(iv) Rehabilitation, restoration and conservation of degraded catchment areas and river basins;
(v) Pollution prevention and control;
(vi) Enforcing compliance with environmental laws, regulations and standards; and
(vii) Conflict resolution.
Requirements:
(i) Bachelor's Degree in any of the following disciplines: Environmental Science, Environmental Conservation and Natural Resource Management, Environmental Conservation, Environmental Education, Environmental Health, Environmental Horticulture and Landscaping, Environmental Law, Environmental Management and Conservation, Environmental Resource Conservation, Environmental Studies and Community Development or any other relevant qualifications from a recognized institution; and
(ii) Certificate in Computer Applications.
