CHAK is looking for a Business Development Intern to be based in Nairobi.

The Christian Health Association of Kenya (CHAK) is Kenya's largest faith-based healthcare network, operating since 1946. It supports over 460 member facilities—including hospitals, dispensaries, and medical training colleges—to deliver accessible, quality, and affordable healthcare, particularly to underserved and rural communities across all Kenyan counties.

The Business Development Intern will provide administrative, coordination, and operational support to the Business Development Department to facilitate the effective implementation of business development and partnership initiatives. The intern will assist in maintaining departmental records and databases, coordinating meetings and events, supporting partner engagement and due diligence processes, preparing documentation and presentations, tracking partnership activities, and contributing to the development of partner success stories.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in daily operations of BD by providing administrative support.
  • Organize and maintain files, records, and documentation for BD.
  • Manage communication, including responding to emails, receiving and responding to incoming calls and visitors.
  • Support preparation of presentations, and other documentation.
  • Support coordination and organisation of departmental meetings, taking minutes, documentation, and follow-up on agreed actions related to business development initiatives.
  • Support in partner due diligence and drafting of documentation
  • Assist in tracking partnership tracker and implementation matrices.
  • Develop partners stories in for sharing with communication team.
  • Contribute to the organization and coordination of departmental events and activities.
  • Maintain and update new business development files, tools, and partner databases

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree - Business Administration / Business Management, Economics, International Relations, Development Studies, Public Health
  • Understanding in project management, partnerships, or program development
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to synthesize data and present compelling business cases.

Personal Attributes

  • Ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with business intelligence or CRM tools is an added advantage.
