About ClimaFii Alliance

The ClimaFii Alliance is a five-year initiative accelerating climate innovation and inclusive finance for microenterprises across Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. We support early-stage startups delivering clean energy and electric mobility solutions that raise productivity, increase incomes, and build resilience for small business owners while reducing emissions and local pollution.

ClimaFii Alliance Internship (3-month internship)

We’re looking for an Intern to support our investment work. This role is ideal for someone who is proactive, analytical, and excited by startups and Africa’s innovation ecosystem.

What you’ll do

  1. Fundraising Tools Development – Support the team of venture builders to develop a set of fundraising tools/resources for early-stage PUE and mobility companies, covering three financing instruments: equity, debt, and asset finance.
  2. Funding Landscape Research – Conduct web-based research to identify and profile funding sources relevant to productive use energy (PUE) and mobility: investment funds, financial institutions (FIs), development finance institutions (DFIs), and existing asset/mobility finance facilities.
  3. Query & Filter Tool for Funding Data – Help design and build an internal tool (dashboard or structured database) that lets the team query and filter the funding dataset by criteria such as instrument type, ticket size, sector, geography, and stage.
  4. Funding Database Consolidation – Review the organization's existing, separate funding databases/trackers and merge them into a single, de-duplicated resource.
  5. Portfolio Book Development – Build and maintain a slide deck profiling ClimaFii portfolio companies (assets deployed, business model, economics, traction) for use in conversations with potential funders.
  6. Donor & Investor Research – Support the ClimaFii Director with research into potential donors and investment partners for the program itself, including profiling funders, tracking outreach status, and preparing background briefs ahead of meetings.
  7. Impact Monitoring Support – Support with metrics and performance data across portfolio companies.

What we’re looking for

Experience: Undergraduate (final year) to 2 years of work experience

Background: STEM, Finance, Business, Economics, or adjacent analytical fields
