Lang’ata Hospital are seeking to recruit a competent, detail-oriented, and highly organized Accounts Officer to join our Finance Department. The successful candidate will support the hospital’s financial operations by ensuring accurate financial records, timely processing of transactions, and compliance with established financial policies and procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Verify medical claims for accuracy and completeness before processing.
- Coordinate the dispatch of claims and conduct timely follow-up to ensure prompt reimbursement.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
- Reconcile cash, bank, and electronic payment transactions.
- Process and allocate accounts receivable receipts accurately.
- Provide support in procurement processes and maintain related financial documentation.
- Assist the Payables and Receivables Accountant in reconciling debtors’ and creditors’ accounts.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper records management.
- Administer petty cash in accordance with the hospital’s financial policies.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of internal controls to safeguard assets, prevent misuse of funds, and promote financial accountability.
- Assist in the preparation of schedules and supporting documentation for internal and external audits.
- Prepare periodic financial and management reports as required.
- Perform any other finance-related duties assigned from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- A Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
- CPA (K) Part II or higher (or equivalent professional accounting qualification).
- At least 2-3 years’ relevant accounting experience.
- Previous experience in a hospital or healthcare environment will be an added advantage.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of integrity, accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
