Leather Development Assistants

Vacancy No 05/25: Leather Development Assistant II CSG 13/ JG ‘G’ – six (6) Posts.

Permanent and Pensionable:
Salary Scale: Ksh. 5,420x~1,040-26,460×1,070-27,530×1,090-28,620×1,110-29,730×1,120-30,850×1,150-32,000×1,170- 33,170 p.m.

a). Duties and responsibilities

This is the entry and training grade for the cadre. An officer at this level will work under guidance of a more experienced officer. Duties and responsibilities will involve;

• demonstrating to traders and skin flayers on the approximate methods of flaying, cleaning, curing and storage of hides and skins;
• ensuring that the hides and skins are delivered to the curing premises immediately after flaying;
• collecting hides and skins data on production, grading and defects and
• issuing dispatch notes to facilitate movement of hides and skins as a disease control measure.

b). Qualifications

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have; –

1. Be in possession of a two-year Certificate in either Hides and Skins Improvement or Leather Technology from a recognized institution; and
2. Have a certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution
