The National Environment Management Authority (NEMA), established under the Environmental Management and Coordination Act (EMCA) Cap 387 is mandated to exercise general supervision and coordination over all matters relating to the environment in Kenya; and to be the Principal Instrument of Government in the implementation of all policies relating to the environment.

The Authority invites applications from qualified and experienced candidates for the following vacant positions.

Office Administrative Assistant

Job Responsibilities

  1. Word and data processing;
  2. Ensuring security of office records, equipment and documents, including classified materials;
  3. Supervising office cleanliness;
  4. Managing e-office;
  5. Operating office equipment;
  6. Handling telephone calls and appointments;
  7. Attending to visitors/clients;
  8. Maintaining office diary and travel itineraries;
  9. Establishing and monitoring procedures for record keeping of correspondence and file movements;
  10. Maintaining an up to date filing system in the office;
  11. Managing office protocol;

Qualifications

  1. KCSE mean grade C- (minus) with at least C (plain) in English Language or its equivalent
  2. Shorthand II (Minimum 80 w.p.m)from the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC);
  3. Typewriting II (40w.p.m)/Computerized Document Processing from KNEC
  4. Office Management III/Office Administration and Management from KNEC;
  5. Business English II/ Communications I from KNEC;
  6. Commerce II from KNEC;
  7. Secretarial Duties II from KNEC;
  8. Office Practice II from KNEC; OR
  9. Craft certificate in Secretarial Studies from the Kenya national Examination Council
  10. Certificate in Computer applications from a recognized institution.

The above position is on permanent and pensionable terms
