Feminist for Peace Rights and Justice Center is hiring a Volunteer Intern Project Coordinator in a hybrid/field-based capacity. You will support the planning and execution of climate action and livelihood development projects, focusing on women’s empowerment and community engagement. Position Title: Volunteer Intern Project Coordinator – Women Climate Action and Livelihood Development
Location: Hybrid/Field-based with occasional travel
Duration: 3-6 Months (Renewable based on performance and organizational needs)
Commitment: Flexible but expected minimum of 20 hours per week
Nature of Position: Volunteer/Unpaid Internship
Reporting To: Programs Associate

FPRJC is seeking a passionate, committed, and highly organized Volunteer Intern Project Coordinator – Women Climate Action and Livelihood Development to support the planning, coordination, implementation, and documentation of projects under the Women Climate Action and Livelihood Development thematic area.

The internship offers an opportunity for young feminists, climate advocates, development practitioners, and community organizers to gain hands-on experience in grassroots climate justice programming, women’s empowerment initiatives, and sustainable livelihoods development.

The Volunteer Intern Project Coordinator will support implementation of climate justice and livelihood projects aimed at empowering women, girls, and marginalized communities through sustainable, community-driven interventions. The intern will work closely with program department, community groups, and partners to coordinate activities, support field engagement, document project progress, and contribute to advocacy and learning processes.

The position is ideal for individuals passionate about climate justice, gender equality, sustainable development, community empowerment, and feminist organizing.

OBJECTIVES

The Volunteer Intern Project Coordinator will:

  1. Support implementation and coordination of Women Climate Action and Livelihood Development projects
  2. Strengthen community participation and engagement in climate justice initiatives
  3. Support documentation, monitoring, and reporting of project activities and outcomes
  4. Contribute to women-led sustainable livelihood initiatives and advocacy efforts
  5. Support coordination of trainings, dialogues, community forums, and awareness campaigns
  6. Promote feminist, inclusive, and community-centred approaches in project implementation
  7. Build practical experience in project coordination, grassroots organizing, and climate justice programming

SCOPE OF WORKS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Volunteer Intern Project Coordinator will support the organization in the following areas:

1. Project Coordination and Implementation

  • Support planning and coordination of project activities under the Women Climate Action and Livelihood Development program
  • Assist in organizing trainings, workshops, community dialogues, forums, and outreach activities
  • Coordinate communication with community groups, stakeholders, and beneficiaries
  • Support implementation of climate resilience and sustainable livelihood activities
  • Follow up on activity schedules, timelines, and implementation plans

2. Community Engagement and Mobilization

  • Support mobilization and engagement of women, girls, and marginalized communities in project activities
  • Assist in facilitating community participation and inclusive engagement processes
  • Support awareness creation on climate justice, environmental sustainability, and women’s empowerment
  • Strengthen relationships with grassroots groups, youth groups, and community leaders
  • Promote community-centred and survivor-informed approaches in engagement activities

3. Monitoring, Documentation, and Reporting

  • Support collection of project data, success stories, testimonies, and field updates
  • Assist in preparing activity reports, field notes, and monitoring documentation
  • Support tracking of project indicators and outcomes
  • Document lessons learned, challenges, and best practices from field activities
  • Support development of case studies and impact stories for reporting and visibility

4. Research and Advocacy Support

  • Assist in conducting basic research on climate justice, gender, livelihoods, and community development issues
  • Support advocacy campaigns and awareness initiatives related to climate action and women’s rights
  • Contribute to development of advocacy materials and community information resources
  • Support dissemination of project information and learning materials

5. Partnership and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Assist in coordination with local partners, community-based organizations, and stakeholders
    upport relationship building with women-led groups and grassroots movements
  • Participate in meetings, stakeholder forums, and coordination engagements where necessary
  • Support networking and collaboration activities within the project area

6. Administrative and Team Support

  • Support preparation of work plans, activity schedules, and logistical arrangements
  • Assist in maintaining organized project records and documentation
  • Participate in program planning meetings and internal team engagements
  • Carry out other project-related duties assigned by the supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • A diploma or degree (completed or ongoing) in Project Management, Environmental Studies, Climate Change, Community Development, Development Studies, Gender Studies, Social Sciences, or related fields
  • Strong interest in climate justice, gender equality, community development, and social justice work
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic understanding of project coordination and community engagement approaches
  • Ability to work with diverse communities and grassroots groups
  • Strong organizational, planning, and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Basic report writing and data collection skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and digital communication tools
  • Willingness to travel and participate in field activities where necessary
