Finance Intern at I Choose Life - Africa

I Choose Life - Africa, a leading Non-Governmental Organizations that has contributed greatly to HIV prevention efforts among the youth in Kenya today, is seeking a Finance Intern to support our work and gain practical experience in a fast-paced NGO setting. Ideal for students in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration.

Qualifications

1. Current enrollment in (or recent graduation from) a Bachelor's degree program in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
2. Progress toward professional qualifications (like CPA, ACCA, or CFA Level 1) is highly valued

Technical Skills:

1. Strong proficiency in MS Excel
2. Familiarity with accounting software (like QuickBooks or SAP) is a plus
3. High attention to detail, strong numerical skills, reliability, and the ability to handle confidential financial data with integrity.

Key Responsibilities

1. Data Entry & Verification: Inputting daily financial transactions, invoices, and expenses into the accounting system or tracking spreadsheets.
2. Invoice Processing: Assisting with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) by sorting incoming invoices, matching receipts, and preparing payment vouchers.
3. Bank Reconciliations: Helping match bank statements against internal financial records to ensure everything balances perfectly.
4. Financial Reporting: Assisting in the preparation of weekly or monthly financial up-dates, balance sheets, and expense tracking reports.
5. Filing & Documentation: Organizing and maintaining physical and digital financial re-cords, vouchers, and tax documents to ensure audit readiness.
6. Audit Support: Helping gather receipts, reports, and documentation when internal or external auditors review the books.
