Makini School Cambridge is seeking dynamic and experienced Library Interns. The ideal candidates will support the day-to-day operations of the school library by assisting with the organisation and circulation of library resources, maintaining an inviting and well-organised learning environment, and providing excellent service to students and staff.

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Keep records of circulation and materials.
  2. Check books in and out of the library.
  3. Code, classify, and catalogue books, publications, films, audiovisual aids, and other library materials based on subject matter or standard library classification systems.
  4. Organize collections of books, publications, documents, audiovisual aids, and other reference materials for convenient access.
  5. Compile lists of overdue materials, and notify borrowers that their materials are overdue.
  6. Any other duty that may be assigned from time to time

Key Qualifications, Experience and Skills Required:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Library and Information Science, Information Studies, Records Management, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Previous internship, volunteer, or work experience in a library or information centre will be an added advantage
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and basic computer skills. Knowledge of library management systems will be an added advantage.
  • A passion for reading, learning, and supporting students in accessing information resources.
  • Demonstrate integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
