AI/ML Engineer Intern
Work directly on Pawanax’s Pawa-Med™ Intelligence Engine — fine-tuning medical foundation models on African disease datasets, building RAG pipelines for clinical knowledge retrieval, and pushing the frontier of AI diagnostics on the continent.
Full-Stack AI Engineer Intern
You’ll build the production interfaces that connect our Pawa-Med™ AI to healthcare providers and patients. From real-time streaming AI responses to WhatsApp bot integrations and clinical dashboards — you’ll ship code that runs at scale.
African NLP Researcher Intern
Most medical AI was built for English. We’re fixing that. You’ll research and develop NLP models for African languages — Swahili, Amharic, Yoruba, Hausa, Zulu, Kikuyu, and more — applying them to clinical conversation and patient communication contexts.
Healthcare Data Scientist Intern
Build the data infrastructure that powers Pawanax. You’ll design clinical data pipelines, build analytics dashboards, and work with HL7/FHIR health data standards — helping us understand disease patterns across 14 African countries at scale.
DevOps/MLOps Intern
Build the infrastructure that makes Pawa-Med™ run reliably across Africa — from cloud-native deployments to edge-optimized models that run on low-resource hardware in rural clinics with unreliable internet.
AI Product Designer Intern
Design the human layer of Pawa-Med™ — clinical dashboards, patient-facing WhatsApp flows, and mobile interfaces that make complex AI feel simple, safe, and trustworthy. You’ll design for users who may be first-time smartphone users in rural Kenya.
AI Business Development Intern
Drive growth and strategic partnerships for Pawanax. You’ll identify and close partnerships with hospitals, clinics, health ministries, and NGOs — and help unlock grant funding from organizations like Gates Foundation, Wellcome Trust, and USAID that are investing billions in African digital health.
Medical AI Research Intern
Bridge the gap between clinical expertise and AI development. You’ll work alongside our clinical advisors and AI researchers to curate African healthcare datasets, validate AI diagnostic outputs, and help ensure our models are clinically safe and culturally appropriate.
Social Media & Content Intern
We need a creative, mission-driven Social Media & Content Intern to build Pawanax’s brand narrative across platforms. You will create content that educates, inspires, and converts — reaching patients, doctors, and investors across Africa and beyond.
