The Internship Trainee will support day-to-day operations at BAYE FoodMart, helping to coordinate activities across e-commerce, logistics, and agrifood distribution functions. This full-time, on-site role, based in Nairobi County, Kenya, involves assisting with data entry, order tracking, customer support, and updating product listings on digital platforms. The trainee will help liaise with youth agripreneurs and SME partners, support quality checks on incoming products, and assist in organizing deliveries to consumers, institutions, and retailers. Additional tasks may include preparing basic reports, supporting marketing campaigns, gathering feedback from users, and contributing to process improvements. The role is designed to provide practical exposure to digital marketplace operations, agribusiness value chains, and youth-focused food systems innovation.
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge or strong interest in agribusiness, food systems, or supply chain operations, especially within the Kenyan context.
- Comfort with digital tools and platforms, including online marketplaces, spreadsheets, and communication tools (e.g., email, messaging apps).
- Strong organizational and time management abilities, with attention to detail for tasks such as data entry, order tracking, and documentation.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with customers, youth agripreneurs, and internal teams in a clear and respectful manner.
- Ability to learn quickly, take initiative, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
- Demonstrated interest in youth empowerment, sustainable agriculture, or social impact initiatives is an added advantage.
- Ongoing studies or recent completion of a diploma or degree in business, agribusiness, supply chain, ICT, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
- Willingness to be on-site in Nairobi County, Kenya, and to adapt to flexible operational needs.
