The Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) wishes to recruit results-oriented Kenyan citizens to fill vacant positions of a System, Network and Security Administrator in Headquarters/ Nairobi/ Regional Offices.

IPOA's main function is to provide for civilian oversight over the work of the Police.

Job Purpose

This cadre is responsible for:

i. Configuration, maintenance and operation of Authority's network, servers, desktop, storage infrastructure; and
ii. Maintenance of the Authority's ICT security systems to secure online and on premise ICT infrastructure;

Key Responsibilities/ Duties / Tasks

An officer at this grade will undertake the following duties and responsibilities:

1. Supporting in implementation of policies, strategies, guidelines, plans, standards and procedures relating to ICT Systems, Network and Security while ensuring compliance to applicable laws, statutes and circulars;
2. Configuring, managing, maintaining and ensuring security of ICT infrastructure, programmes and equipment;
3. Implementing ICT systems and networks;
4. Maintaining ICT Systems, Network and Security equipment and inventory in the Authority;
5. Providing ICT Systems, Network and Security technical support in the Authority;
6. Initiating corrective action, system safeguards and recovery plans in case of disaster or data loss.
7. Updating all records in the division;
8. Consolidating data for compiling internal and external reports in the division;
9. Implementing risks mitigation measures; and
10. Developing and implementing individual work plans.

Knowledge, Experience and qualifications required

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have the following qualifications:

1. Bachelor's Degree in any of the following disciplines: Business Information Technology, Information Communication Technology or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
2. Professional Certification in any two of the following: - Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) and Certificate in ethical hacking.
