DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION, VOCATIONAL TRAINING, SOC

Basic Salary Scale: Ksh. 41,420.00 – 57,230.00 pm (CPSB 09)
House Allowance: Ksh. 12,800.00 pm
Commuter Allowance: Ksh. 5,000 p.m.
Other Allowances as Per the SRC Circulars
Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable

Requirements for Appointment-:

• Bachelor’s degree in Library Studies/Library and Information Science, Information Science;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and
• Good analytical and record keeping skills.

Duties and Responsibilities -:

• Accessioning, stamping and labeling of the acquired information resources;
• Shelving and shelf arrangement;
• Collating user requests;
• Preparing materials for binding and file pockets;
• Spine marking, fixing book jackets;
• Preparing and cataloguing press cuttings;
• Filling catalogue cards;
• Receiving new materials, compiling lists of overdue resources;
• Serials control and tracking;
• Compiling user statistics; and
• Collecting, documenting and archiving/preserving information resources.
• Performing any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
