About Company
The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development is hiring twenty-five entry-level Lecturers. In this role, you will prepare teaching materials, deliver lectures, and assess students. You’ll also supervise practical sessions, attachments, and record trainee performance. A Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant agricultural field from a recognized Kenyan university is required. LECTURER II – TWENTY-FIVE (25) POSTS- V/NO. 128/2026
Basic Salary Scale: Ksh 41,420-Ksh 57,230 p.m. (CSG 10)
House Allowance: Ksh 9,600-KSH 16,500 p.m.
Commuter Allowance: Ksh 5,000 p.m.
Leave Allowance: As provided in the Civil Service
Annual Leave: 30 working days
Medical Cover: As provided by the Government
Terms of Service: Permanent and pensionable
Qualification Requirements
For appointment to this grade, the candidate must have a Bachelor of Science Degree in any of the following agricultural fields: Agriculture, Crop Protection, Agricultural Education and Extension, Horticulture, Agriculture and Home Economics, Dry-Land Agriculture/ Resource Management, Bio Technology, Animal Science/Animal Production, Farm Management, Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness Management, Environmental Engineering, Bio Systems Engineering, Soil and Water Engineering, Irrigation Engineering, Structure and Process Engineering, Machinery Engineering, Agriculture Engineering, Soil Environment and Land Use Management, Farm Power and, Food Science and Technology/Post Harvest Technology, Agro-processing, Food Nutrition and Dietetics, Agricultural Extension or any other equivalent qualification from a university recognized in Kenya;
Duties and Responsibilities
This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. Duties and responsibilities will include:-
(i) preparing schemes of work, lesson plans, lesson notes, lecturing and demonstrating in the area of specialization;
(ii) evaluating and assessing trainees;
(iii) supervising demonstrations and practical exercises in areas of specialization;
(iv) supervising trainees on attachment and internship programmes;
(v) compiling trainees’ performance records in areas of specialization; and
(vi) conducting extra-curricular activities.
