About the Role
We are looking for a creative, proactive, and highly motivated Communications Intern to support our communications function with a strong focus on digital content and social media management. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about storytelling, understands digital trends, and enjoys creating engaging content across multiple platforms.
The successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening our digital presence, managing our social media channels, producing multimedia content, supporting media relations, and contributing to the organization’s overall communications strategy.
This is a hands-on internship designed to provide practical experience across all aspects of corporate communications.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media Management
- Own the day-to-day management of the organization’s social media channels, including Instagram, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), TikTok, and any future platforms.
- Develop and maintain a monthly content calendar.
- Publish engaging content consistently across all social media platforms.
- Monitor comments, direct messages, and inquiries, ensuring timely and professional responses.
- Track social media trends and recommend creative ways to grow audience engagement.
- Monitor performance metrics and prepare monthly analytics reports with recommendations for improvement.
Content Creation
- Create compelling written, visual, and video content for digital platforms.
- Develop creative concepts for campaigns and awareness initiatives.
- Write captions, stories, articles, blogs, newsletters, and website content.
- Identify opportunities to tell impactful stories about the organization, its partners, and beneficiaries.
Graphic Design & Video Production
- Design posters, banners, flyers, and other communication materials.
- Capture photos and videos during events and organizational activities.
- Edit short-form and long-form videos suitable for social media platforms.
- Produce engaging reels, TikToks, and promotional videos.
Media & Public Relations
- Draft press releases, media advisories, and talking points.
- Support media engagement and press event coordination.
- Assist in preparing communication materials for key organizational announcements.
- Monitor media coverage and compile regular media reports.
Corporate Communications
- Support internal communication initiatives.
- Assist in developing communication campaigns for projects and events.
- Maintain an organized repository of communication materials, photographs, videos, and brand assets.
- Ensure all communication materials align with organizational branding guidelines.
Events & Campaigns
- Support the planning and communication of corporate events.
- Provide live social media coverage during events.
- Create post-event communication materials, including highlights, photo galleries, and recap videos.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or currently completing the final year) in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Media Studies, Digital Media, or a related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms and digital communication trends.
- Experience creating engaging content for social media.
- Basic graphic design skills using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design tools.
- Video editing skills using CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent software.
- Photography and videography skills are an added advantage.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
- Creativity, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.

Reporting Line
The Communications Intern will report to the Communications Manager (or designated supervisor) and work closely with various departments to support organizational communication
