Vacancy Description
The Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis (KIPPRA) is a State Corporation established by an Act of Parliament with a primary mandate of providing quality policy advice to the Government of Kenya, private sector and other key stakeholders by conducting objective research and analysis and through capacity building in order to contribute to the achievement of national long-term development objectives by positively influencing the decision-making processes.
STUDENT ATTACHMENT PROGRAM
The attachment program is a 3 month program. The intake is done every quarter. It’s a competitive process with students from multiple Universities. KIPPRA conducts interviews and selects candidates who closely resonate with our core values, vision and mission. We target 8 students per quarter.
The students are placed in either of the following departments:
Technical Departments:
- Capacity Building Department
- Partnerships Department
- Trade and Foreign Policy Department
- Macroeconomics Department
- Productive Sector Department
- Private Sector Department
- Social Sector Department
- Governance Department
- Infrastructure and Economics Services Department
- Knowledge Management Department– (Publications and Library)
Qualifications for Technical Departments:
Economics or related Social Sciences, Curriculum Development, Gender Studies, Public Policy, Statistics, Monitoring and Evaluation, Criminology, Governance, Urban Planning, Agriculture, Political Science, Library & Information.
Support Departments:
- Legal Services Department
- Strategy and Planning Department
- Finance Department
- Internal Audit Department
- Human Resource & Administration Department
- Records Management Division
- Supply Chain Management Department
- Information Communication & Technology (ICT) Division
- Corporate Communication Division
- Office Administrators
- Office Assistants
Qualifications for Support Departments:
Finance/Accounting, Supply chain Management, Human Resource Management, Communication, ICT, Law, Records Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, Business Administration, Business & Office Management, Secretarial Studies.
Minimum Requirements for the Student Attachment Program
- Must be an ongoing student
- Must submit an introductory letter or recommendation letter from the university
- Must submit an application letter and CV
- Must provide evidence of medical cover
