The National Council for Children's Services (NCCS) is established under section 41 of the Children Act, 2022 Cap 141, mandated to regulate, coordinate and oversight children's services in Kenya and advise the Government on all matters thereof.

The Council seeks to recruit qualified and competent staff to fill the following vacant positions.

POSITION: ACCOUNTS OFFICER II

TERMS OF SERVICE: PERMANENT AND PENSIONABLE

This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level works under the supervision and guidance of a senior Officer.

Duties and responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities will entail: -

  1. Filing tax returns;
  2. Updating the cashbook;
  3. Maintaining cash books, ledgers, vote books and registers;
  4. Preparing and verifying vouchers and committal documents;
  5. Keeping safe custody of council’s accounting records and documents accounting assets.

Requirements for appointment

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: -

  1. Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: - Commerce; Finance; Business Administration (Financing and Accounting option); Economics; Statistics or its equivalent qualification from recognized institution;
    OR
  2. Certified Public Accountants CPA (II) or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; and
  3. Proficiency in Computer Applications.
