Strathmore University are recruiting a Procurement Associate in Nairobi to be responsible for providing effective operational support in the administration of the procurement function in order to ensure that users get quality and timely services.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Place and follow up on allocated orders for local procurement in adherence with the procurement policies and procedures;
- Undertake research into best practice contract management and adopt these practices in the contract management process after approval;
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of the materials and products ordered;
- Liaise with the other stakeholders to ensure timely inspection of goods delivered to confirm quality and conformance to order specifications;
- Conduct contractual monitoring to provide assurance of service delivery in line with strategy and contract agreements and report on compliance and delivery performance;
- Process all orders from user units in the system and ensure all LPOs are generated and issued on a timely manner
- Check purchase orders for accuracy, completeness, and clarity, and verify that product and shipping information, costs, and delivery dates are correct before obtaining authorisation to place an order.
Minimum Academic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Purchasing and Supplies or any other related field from a recognised institution.
- A professional qualification in Supplies Management will be an added advantage.
Experience
At least 1 year of experience in Procurement
