STATE DEPARTMENT FOR BROADCASTING AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS
PHOTOJOURNALIST/VIDEOGRAPHER ASSISTANT III – SEVEN (7) POSTS – V/NO. 125/2026
Basic Salary Scale: Ksh 30,400 p.m โ Ksh 38,880 p.m. (CSG 12)
House Allowance: Ksh 3,850 p.m. โ Ksh 6,750 p.m.
Commuter Allowance: Ksh 4,000 p.m.
Leave allowance: As provided in the Civil Service
Annual Leave: 30 working days per financial year
Medical Cover: As provided by the government
Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable
Qualification Requirements
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have a Diploma in Photojournalism/Photography from a recognized institution.
Duties and Responsibilities
This will be the entry and training level for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer. Duties and responsibilities will include:-
(i) taking and processing of photographs;
(ii) caption writing;
(iii) documenting news, information and features through photography;
(iv) providing darkroom services; and
(v) scanning and digitizing photographs.
