About Company
The Public Service Commission is hiring Public Communications Assistants under the Ministry of Information, Communications and The Digital Economy. You will gather, write, and distribute news and features, manage information flow, and help circulate government publications. We seek Diploma holders in fields like Journalism, Mass Communication, or Public Relations. PUBLIC COMMUNICATIONS ASSISTANT III – FIFTEEN (15) POSTS – V/NO. 124/2026
Basic Salary Scale: Ksh 30,400 p.m โ Ksh 38,880 p.m. (CSG 12)
House Allowance: Ksh 3,850 p.m. โ Ksh 6,750 p.m.
Commuter Allowance: Ksh 4,000 p.m.
Leave allowance: As provided in the Civil Service
Annual Leave: 30 working days per financial year
Medical Cover: As provided by the government
Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable
Qualification Requirements
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have a Diploma in any of the following Social Sciences: Photojournalism, Mass Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Communication Studies or Media Studies/Science from a recognised institution;
Duties and Responsibilities
This will be the entry and training grade for Information Assistants. Duties and responsibilities will include:-
(i) gathering, writing, dispatching news, information and features;
(ii) managing information gathering and dissemination systems; and
(iii) distribution of Government publications under the guidance of a senior officer.
